Project idea

The Virtual Immersive Mansinam Museum reimagines the preservation of Papua's cultural and spiritual heritage through immersive digital experiences. Inspired by the historical significance of Mansinam Island as the birthplace of Christianity in Papua, the project addresses the limitations of conventional museum exhibitions by creating an engaging environment where visitors actively interact with history rather than passively observe it. The design aims to strengthen cultural appreciation, emotional connection, and educational engagement through spatial storytelling and immersive technology.

Project description

The project proposes a virtual immersive museum that combines exhibition design with interactive digital technology to create a meaningful visitor journey. The spatial sequence follows the historical narrative of Mansinam Island, allowing visitors to experience its cultural, historical, and religious heritage through immersive exhibitions. The museum includes a welcoming entrance, immersive exhibition galleries, interactive digital displays, projection-based storytelling spaces, reflection areas, and educational zones. By integrating physical spatial design with virtual media, the museum offers an inclusive and memorable learning experience for visitors of all ages.
