Project idea

This project aims to strengthen the Al Shindagha district by creating a cultural node that not only connects the entire district but also stands as a landmark in its own right.

Project description

The proposed project is a Performance Arts Centre located in the historical district of Al Shindagha, Dubai, covering a total built-up of 4,500 m2. The centre aims to create a vibrant cultural hub that celebrates not only Emirati heritage but also contemporary performance and art, facilitating community interaction. The design must respect the already existing cultural, historical and urban fabric while introducing modern facilities that encourage cultural exchange and creativity.

Technical information

The building features perforated Corten steel panels strategically placed to block harsh sunlight. It als comprises of palm strand board, which is made from the waste from date palms, promoting circular economy. More details in terms of services are given.
