This project proposes an intervention on about 100 hectares at the entrance of Stronie Śląskie in Poland. The site was chosen because it is the first area affected when water levels rise during floods. It works like a natural threshold before the town. The goal is to reshape this landscape so it can slow down, store, and redirect water before it reaches the dense urban areas.

Project description

The master plan is organized around the river, which becomes the main structuring element of the project. Instead of urban sprawl, the design creates compact urban clusters connected by walkable streets and public spaces. These clusters are integrated into a continuous blue-green system that combines landscape, water management, and mobility.

Technical information

The project is inspired by the natural movement of water, such as curves, flows, and expansions. Rather than fighting the river, the design tries to understand and work with it. In this way, the proposal creates a more resilient town where nature and urban life can coexist in a safer and more balanced way.
