Project idea

This project is a five-floor building where floors 2 through 5 each have a balcony. The balconies rotate around the building, each on a different face, so every unit receives efficient sunlight at different times of the day. The design encourages residents to plant small trees, herbs, or flowers on their balcony, bringing nature into daily life. The first floor serves as a reception area.

Project description

This project consists of a five-story building. The first floor is a reception area. Floors 2, 3, 4, and 5 each have one balcony. Each balcony faces a different direction: floor 2 on one face, floor 3 on another, floor 4 on another, and floor 5 on the remaining face. This creates a rotating effect around the building. Doors and windows are from SketchUp 3D Warehouse.

I am an 11th-grade high school student who taught myself SketchUp online because my school does not offer architecture classes. This is my first architecture project. I am submitting to gain experience, receive professional feedback, and take my first step into architectural design.

Technical information

The model was created using SketchUp Free. The structure is a simple concrete frame with balconies extending outward from floors 2 through 5. Doors and windows were sourced from the 3D Warehouse. The first floor is designed as a reception space.
