Project idea

ABOUT : the facility integrates public exhibition spaces and private research areas.
The public sector includes a Museum of the Universe, Big Bang and Black Hole galleries, hands-on labs, and a planetarium, offering visitors immersive educational experiences about the universe and particle physics. The private sector features secure research laboratories, collaboration spaces, and data analysis centers, providing scientists with advanced tools for groundbreaking research.
Sky Gate is not just a facility —
it's a window to tomorrow and a beacon for a new generation of explorers.

Project description

SKY GATE is a landmark hybrid institution that bridges advanced scientific research with public civic engagement. The project serves a dual typology: a cutting-edge Cosmic Research Center and an immersive Astrophysics Museum. The design utilizes a parametric architectural language to express the concepts of matter creation, orbital mechanics, and cosmic flow.

Technical information

relies on high-performance, futuristic materials:

Structural System: Parametric steel diagrid frames for the major domes; long-span structural steel trusses for the red gantry links.

Envelope Dynamics: Perforated aluminum cladding panels backed by programmatic, smart emissive LEDs capable of translating real-time particle accelerator data into external cyberpunk light animations.

Base & Substructure: Textured rammed earth and high-durability architectural concrete composites to visually anchor the facility into the surrounding arid terrain.
