The project title - A Retreat House Task This project is about creating a Retreat House on a piece of land with beautiful natural settings surrounding the area. This house is designed for two peoples who have a strong relationship where they can hide from the world and enjoying their precious times together. a)We are required to design a HOUSE FULL OF SENSE OF SPACE & RESPONSIVE TO SURROUNDING AREA for the chosen characters and accommodating visitors of two to four (2 – 4) guests in the SITE given. You shall include in the building the following spaces: 1- RELAXING SPACE 2- LIVING SPACE b) The spaces mentioned above MUST BE DEFINED and should be designed to suit the need s of the chosen character. c) Besides the spaces, students need to analyze and determine the zones: 1- PRIVATE ZONE 2- PUBLIC ZONE d) We also need to be able to incorporate and locate these areas: 1- INDOOR AREA 2- OUTDOOR AREA 3- COVERED AREA 4- OPEN AREA e) All the spaces and areas have to be related to activities and contain meaning or purpose. f) Overall size of enclosed space must be within 1000 sqft within the site boundary. g) Overall outdoor area should be approximately 1000 sqft within the site boundary. h) Building height must be SINGLE STOREY i) Site contour and hardwood trees with a height of more than 10 meters must remain.

FOCUS ON THE DESIGN ATTENTION • We must understand fully the site context and relate the spaces to its surrounding. • We must be able to materialize the character of the chosen client. • We must be able to define the spaces and arrangements of all the zones and areas. • We must expose the aesthetic of the materials and explore the multiple characters of the building materials.
