UPRISEN TO THE FUTURE : DESIGN OF A RESIDENTIAL HOUSING

Idea projektu

Housing settlements provide housing to 30-70% of the urban population in many developing countries. They have grown enormous due to widespread poverty and inadequate housing finance and land development systems. Governments mostly assisted by the international aid agencies have improved environment, tenure security, income and resources in many settlements. Yet the problems persist as benefits did not multiply due to lack in institutional development, policy implementation, governance, participation etc. However, when it comes to the daily working life of most architecture students, it may seem that other agendas play the dominant role: Being more or less dependent on the visions and money of investors and developers (or lack of visions), objectives related to profit, branding, market etc. seem to overshadow ideas of social equity, well-being for vulnerable groups, social integration and so on. This design create based on housing survey analysis on Chandgaoun R/A. this area is a residential area in Chittagong. The housing complex is infect a vertical village for better interaction to the community people

UPRISEN TO THE FUTURE : DESIGN OF A RESIDENTIAL HOUSING

1. Your project idea: Keep it short and concise. The aim of this section is to sell your idea as quickly as you can. So, I would advise focusing on using key words instead of long sentences. Remember the more entries the competition has, the less time each jury has to look at your work. This is the part where you are stating the "why" you are doing this project and “what” problem is this going to resolve. 2. Your project description: Looks much better. This section should be focusing on the following: the "what" are you designing? The "where" are you designing it. The "why" are you doing it? (referencing the problem in point 1). The "How" is this going to resolve the problem? By stating your concept, design methodology and mostly what makes this project the answer to the question or solution to the problem. Finally, the "who" or the user that needs this and going use the spaces you are designing. 3. Technical information: Again, avoid information that do not necessarily sell your project. You could have done better with this section. you supposed to be describing your project from a technical aspect, focusing on: What is it made of? how is it been put together? and what technical features makes it a winning project and a design solution. 4. Presentation and drawings: Overall this is a strong design scheme with a clear design intent. However, your presentation skills need a lit be more work. Stick to one style of presentation and color scheme, make each page look designed and more graphical. Currently there is an overload of writing and not enough "architecture". This section is about showing the implementation of what was described in the sections above and not the other way around. Remember this an architectural competition so your presentation needs to be more visual. But well done! You are heading in the right direction. Emmanuel Nsibula
