Shamiyana (a local vernacular tent ) in Pakistan is not getting enough attention so the focus was to upgrade its model to meet with contemporary needs.
Scope of the project is to come up with sustainable solutions and modern solutions to a century old temporary structure, Idea also focuses on the exciting structures to attract huge amount of audience.
Thesis focuses on the exploration of Tensile and Tensegrity structures. Since these are temporary structures, thesis also aimed to achieve a structure system which is entirely deployable and easy to transport .
I think you have to explore more on the cultural and historical significance of this model, and apply architectural conservation and modernization approaches to give it more values in the aspects of aesthetics, identity and consistency with your country's vernacular styles.
