SPACE FOR BLIND PERSON

Idea projektu

Richness of a space depends upon the variety of senses. Through all of our sensory elements, the essence of a space could be attained. Within that spectrum, we can realize by how a space could be defined...WE CAN SAY that it is A STUDY TO UNDERSTAND SPACE. On casual consideration, it might be concluded that the perception of space is based exclusively on vision. After closer study, this so-called visual space is found to be supplemented perceptually by cues based on auditory (sense of hearing), tactile (sense of touch), olfactory (sense of smell), and gustatory (sense of taste) experience.

SPACE FOR BLIND PERSON

Hello Kawser, my name is Nicholas from Argentina, and I am a former Inspireli Finalist and Juror tasked with giving feedback on your project. I will give feedback based on 2 points: 1) Base idea: The concept is not only interesting but of great importance to society, directed towards a sector of the population that is many times forgotten by us architects. Furthermore, the idea of involving the different senses into the design is very interesting. You might want to read up on the Alhambra in Spain that takes into account all the senses, using different fruit plants like I believe you have used in your project. 2) Execution: I admit it was difficult to analyze your project because of the minimal info given. I would have liked to see what types of materials you used, what plants, what sensations are meant to give each element of your design to the person inside, etc. I think you have something very interesting and useful to society. If you advance more on the project or have more exploration regarding the design, I'd be more than happy to look. Arch Nicholas Whitacre PS. I find it almost ironic, but my final project also had to do with involving the different senses into the architecture.
