STU center of innovation in Bratislava

Idea projektu

The driving force behind this design is achieving inter-connectivity of spaces in the city by creating a central node linking surrounding areas of interest and public focus through a series of public courtyards, seating, entertainment and exhibitions areas with private learning spaces created through the displacement and rearrangement of the existing building spaces. This particular approach to the design is achieved with the guided routes of circulation through the site leading from highly public city surroundings into a semi-public courtyard space which then follows a vertical hierarchy of the building which goes from public to semi private the higher the levels.

Popis projektu

The proposed building aims to reuses the structural elements of the existing laboratories. Keeping the shape of the building with the added central core and circulation route on either end of the building.

Technické informace

In keeping with the theme of the surrounding buildings, the proposed building uses concrete as the main material, with the structural columns, walls and floors constructed with concrete. There is also an abundant use of glass throughout the building.

STU center of innovation in Bratislava

I give a high appreciation for the design of The Center of Innovation in Bratislava Transformation for The Courtyard. I noticed that the design can bridge the old design and create new ideals space for user benefit. This design considers urban analysis with a focus on considering human activities in the area. The interesting mass and facade in the solid and void composition seem dynamic. Mass configuration provides good access to outdoor space and natural daylight to the interior of the building. This design follows the spirit of open innovation. I think your design has concerned with the existence of open spaces for human interaction. Elevated areas provide user activity on the ground floor. Connecting spaces are another advantage of this design. Astrid Kusumowidagdo Dean, School of Creative Industry Universitas Ciputra Indonesia
