Idea projektu
In achieving the ultimate flexibility the design is derived from the need to create a building that can include all kinds of activities at one time and has no certain typology. The concept of the Everlasting Building transcends mere architectural innovation, embodying a vision of resilience, adaptability, and timeless elegance. Inspired by the ever-changing urban landscape of Cairo, this groundbreaking project seeks to redefine the boundaries of architectural possibility. At its core, the Everlasting Building represents a fusion of tradition and innovation. The building is tackling the point of flexible design.
Popis projektu
The Everlasting Building in Cairo's Opera Square is a groundbreaking architectural marvel designed for dynamic adaptability and multifunctionality. This innovative structure, inspired by the fluid movements of marionettes, employs a sophisticated mechanism of motorized pulleys, high-tensile wires, and modular units to transform its shape and function seamlessly. Serving various purposes from theaters to office spaces, the building integrates advanced technology and flexible partitions to create a versatile environment that responds to the evolving needs of the city. Main Elements of the Project 1. Modular Units: - Lightweight, robust materials. - It can interlock with each other - It can split into halves 2. Kinetic Facade: - Dynamically adjusts to environmental conditions. - Optimizes light and ventilation for energy efficiency. 3.Central Cores: - Act as anchor points and load distributors. - Equipped with winches and pulleys for precise unit movement. 4. Motorized Pulleys and High-Tensile Wires: - Facilitate vertical and horizontal unit positioning. - Ensure synchronized and stable elevation. 5. Flexible Partitioning: - Modular panels and sliding mechanisms. - Customizable spatial configurations for different functions. 6. Roof Structure: - Primary support for the pulley systems. - Houses equipment necessary for unit elevation. 7. Support Frames: - Ensure secure positioning and load-bearing capabilities of the pulleys. 8. Integration of Historical Elements: - Preservation and incorporation of the existing Ibrahim Basha statue as a focal point. 9. Dynamic Layouts: - Adaptability for diverse activities, such as auditoriums, theaters, offices, and universal spaces. This project not only enhances the urban landscape of Cairo but also sets a precedent for future adaptive architecture, blending historical preservation with modern innovation.
