Sportovní hala Aritma

Idea projektu

The Multifunctional Sports Hall ARITMA in Vokovice is a modern sports complex that offers a wide range of sports and recreational activities. This hall is designed to meet the needs of both amateur and professional athletes.

Popis projektu

On the ground floor of the hall, there are several key facilities that ensure comfort and comprehensive services for visitors. There is a restaurant and a buffet where athletes and visitors can relax and enjoy refreshments after training or a sports match. There is also a sports equipment store that offers a wide range of products for various sports. The multifunctional hall itself is the heart of the entire complex. It is designed to host various indoor sports, such as futsal, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and many others. The hall is equipped with a high-quality surface and modern facilities that provide optimal conditions for both training and competitions. Classic changing rooms and league changing rooms are also available, offering ample space and comfort for all athletes. On the first floor of the building, there is a gym. Athletes can improve their fitness and strength under the supervision of professional trainers. In addition to the gym, there is also a hostel that offers accommodation for athletes and visitors, and a small gymnasium for smaller sports activities or group exercises. The second floor of the hall is dedicated to calm sports. There is a separate changing room for activities on the rooftop green area, such as yoga, bouldering, and other relaxing sports. The roof of the building thus provides a space for outdoor activities, offering a unique environment for exercising in the open air. In the underground areas of the hall, there are garages that provide ample parking capacity for visitors and technical facilities that support the smooth operation of the entire complex.

Technické informace

The main entrance is located on the east side, facing the direction of arrivals from public transport and the parking lot. The entrance protrudes from the building's structure to ensure it is easily found by every arriving visitor. Upon entering, visitors immediately reach the reception area, from where they can proceed to other floors for various training areas or to the underground garages. Fans have access to the buffet and restaurant, while athletes pass through the lobby and then move exclusively within the zone of the changing rooms, the hall, and the gym. Athletes from the SK Aritma Praha sports club, including the football and tennis divisions, can also use the hall's changing rooms with access from the west side of the building.

PROJECT: Sportovní hala Aritma STUDENT: Emanuel Mareš INSTITUTION: CTU in Prague - Faculty of Civil Engineering COUNTRY: Czech Republic SEMIFINAL JUROR: Wandile Sibandze 1. STRENGTHS: It’s clear that the candidate is passionate about some aspects of architecture [i.e. form, function, and presentation]; therefore, assumes a “zeitgeist” approach in his project delivery. His artistic command of form and materiality presents a beautiful piece of architecture. He further handles issues of human-scaling and entrance address sensitively. 2. SHORTCOMINGS: I find it difficult to determine the contextual appropriateness, and regionalism of the project in the absence of site analysis; and if the project responds correctly to urban issues and fabric. The candidate doesn't present any theoretical rationale towards the neglect of context. 3. CREDIBILITY OF ARGUMENT: The candidate does not present any argument. 4. DESIGN RESOLUTION: The design portrays the designer’s firm intent, good control, and command over spatial layout, scale, and proportion. 5. TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Acceptable. 6. GENERAL COMMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: 6.1. Show site-analyses. 6.2. Show basement floor plan. 6.3. Show precedent-study. 6.4. Engage in more research. 6.5. On proposal, the candidate must then enter into a theoretical argument that will give merit to the decision-made. 6.6. The project must articulate urban integration. 6.7. Consider drop-off zones. 6.8. Resolve the negative space in room 2.07. 6.9. Resolve fire routing [make provision of an alternative fire escape] for rooms 2.10 – 2.20 and also rooms 2.22 – 2.24. 6.10. Consider paraplegic access to rooms 2.22 – 2.24
