Our renovation goal is to restorehistoric buildings, glass pavilions, update textileworkshops and community housing to make theproject sustainable. New Europe Bauhaus partner.
This proposal for the Schindler’s Ark Museum focuses on adaptive reuse, combining restoration of historic buildings with the introduction of glass pavilions, updated textile workshops, and community housing. The design intent aligns with the ideals of the New European Bauhaus, emphasizing sustainability, heritage preservation, and cultural exchange. The integration of new structures—particularly the transparent pavilions—adds architectural lightness while maintaining respect for the existing fabric.
The spatial organization demonstrates an awareness of community and memory, with a balanced distribution between commemorative, productive, and residential functions. However, while the ambition is notable, the architectural detailing remains relatively conventional. The contrast between new and old could be more sharply articulated through differentiated material use, spatial transitions, or symbolic gestures. Moreover, more attention to interior programming and circulation would strengthen the visitor experience and deepen the historical narrative.
Overall, this is a sensitive and well-intentioned intervention that succeeds in principle but would benefit from further refinement in spatial hierarchy, architectural expression, and experiential depth.
