Seascape Odyssey

Idea projektu

The idea of the project is to establish an educational maritime museum designed to attract visitors through interactive exhibits and engaging displays. By immersing visitors in experiences that explore marine ecosystems, maritime history, and environmental conservation, the museum aims to educate and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our seas and oceans. Through hands-on activities, educational programs, and cultural exhibits, the museum seeks to foster a deeper appreciation for marine environments and promote sustainable practices among its visitors.

Popis projektu

This project can be divided into 3 parts vertically : • 01 part : Exhibition section, in the first 02 levels, we will have exhibition galeries, a waterfall, an immersive sphere, an eating area and a technical block. • 02 part : Transition section, in the third (03) level, we will have a water garden, a musical scene and a food area. • 03 part : Educational section, in the last (04) floor, we will have classrooms, workshops, reunion rooms, debate rooms, laboratories and projection rooms, library + a cafeteria

Technické informace

The construction of this project is made of Grc concrete and smart glass panels (with micro solar pannels). The structure of the project is a combination of 03 types; • mixed use structure for the floors • structural nuclei, that also works as safety elements where we can evaluate people in case of earthquakes or fire • three dimensional structure for the shell

Seascape Odyssey

While drawing inspiration from fluid shapes that represent natural elements is an excellent conceptual starting point, the project should be more site-specific. It’s essential for the design to reflect the unique elements and surroundings of the site. By grounding the project in its location, the design will not only honor the natural environment but also create a more meaningful relationship between the architecture and its context. When parametric design is introduced, establishing clear parameters is critical to justify the building’s form. Parameters such as sunlight, wind direction, and other environmental factors should directly inform the architectural choices. This allows for a more responsive and purposeful design, ensuring that the project isn’t just visually striking but also functional and sustainable. Additionally, the idea of using a grid system to develop a structural framework is a sound starting point. However, more information about the structural strategy would be helpful, as only limited details were provided. I encourage the student to research similar projects to better understand the complexities of structural design, especially when considering the involvement of various engineering trades (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers). Understanding these disciplines will provide greater insight into how the building functions as a whole. It would also be valuable for the student to include the overall square footage or square meters of the project. This will give a clearer understanding of the project's scale and help inform decisions related to layout, circulation, and overall feasibility.
