Birds Research center

Idea projektu

The project idea is based on integrating the architectural element with the surrounding nature, to achieve the desired goal of the facility, in addition to creating a new experience for visitors.

Popis projektu

The project consists of two main Zones: 1-The Research zone. 2-The Visitors zone. First: The Research zone: an area designed for researchers to study the nature of birds present in the region, by observing birds from the research area, in addition to a cage integrated with the building and connected to the laboratory area to study birds up close. Second: The visitors’ zone: which is designed to provide a different experience for visitors by walking in a corridor and getting to know the types of birds in the area, then entering the inner garden and walking on the bridge to observe the birds up close and enjoy nature along the journey, then the possibility of seeing the garden from another external angle, in addition to the opportunity to see the water birds up close by going down to the cafeteria area, and enjoying a light meal while enjoying the picturesque view.

Technické informace

Birds Research center

This project beautifully merges architecture with nature, creating a space that is both educational and immersive. The dual-zone concept—separating research and visitor experiences—adds functional clarity while allowing both scientific study and public engagement to thrive within the same facility. The integration of bird observation areas, inner gardens, and elevated bridges reflects a strong sensitivity to the natural behaviors of birds and how humans can interact with them responsibly. The use of rammed earth is commendable, aligning well with the sustainability goals of the project, and the inclusion of UV-coated glass shows thoughtful attention to the well-being of the birds. The journey-based experience through the visitor zone—from corridors to cafés—feels dynamic and engaging, promoting awareness of avian life in a memorable way. To elevate the presentation, more visual materials like sectional drawings, diagrams of the zones, or renders showing the bird interaction points would help convey the spatial and experiential richness of the project. Overall, this is a well-considered and meaningful design that creates harmony between people, architecture, and the natural environment. Thank you, Nayera Nasser, for this insightful and environmentally conscious proposal!
