The project convincingly explores the idea of transforming a former industrial site into a vibrant cultural center. I particularly appreciate the boldness of designing a contemporary architectural layer that does not attempt to imitate the historic architecture but instead establishes a clearly discernible dialogue with it. The contrast between the austere geometry of the original buildings and the fluid, organic forms of the new addition creates a strong identity for the entire complex.I also view the effort to create a high-quality public space very positively. The proposed courtyard, the connections between the individual buildings, and the treatment of the ground level have the potential to transform the complex into a natural gathering place for cultural events and everyday life. The design clearly reflects an effort to open the originally enclosed industrial complex to the public. Another strength of the project is its handling of spatial continuity. The new volumes create interesting views, connect the individual parts of the complex, and offer visitors a variety of spatial experiences. Green roofs and outdoor terraces further expand the possibilities for use and contribute to the overall quality of the environment. For the further development of the design, I would recommend examining in greater detail the relationship between the new organic massing and the dominant character of Bulovna’s historic buildings. It would be interesting to better demonstrate how the new architecture enhances the legibility and presentation of the original industrial structures, which represent a significant part of the site’s identity. It would also be beneficial to elaborate in greater detail on the visitor route and the exhibition so that it is clear how visitors move through the complex and discover its historical values.Overall, this is a striking and confident design that offers a contemporary interpretation of how to engage with industrial heritage and has the potential to create an attractive cultural center with a clear architectural identity.
