The project seeks to sensitively build upon the existing architecture of the Bulovna complex and create a functionally interconnected museum complex complemented by new buildings. I appreciate the effort to use a unified architectural language for the new structures and to create a clear layout of the complex, including the adjacent public spaces. The respect for the scale of the existing development and the effort to preserve the legibility of the original buildings are also positive aspects. The design creates a tranquil environment and offers the potential to integrate museum functions with other activities on the grounds. However, for the project’s further development, it would be advisable to elaborate in greater detail on the architectural concept itself and its relationship to the history and identity of the site. It is not entirely clear from the submitted proposal how the newly designed buildings enhance the spatial qualities of the site and how they support the visitor experience related to the theme of the hop museum. The operational and spatial design of the individual parts of the complex also deserves further attention. A more convincing organization of functions, a clearer visitor route, and stronger connections between the exhibition, public spaces, and ancillary functions could significantly enhance the overall quality of the design. The project presents an interesting foundation for further development, which would benefit from more in-depth architectural and operational refinement in order to fully realize the potential of the site.
