The project presents a strong and well-articulated concept of a high-rise functioning as a vertical social hub within the dense urban fabric of GEC, Chattogram. The idea of “Social Orbit” is clearly expressed through layered communal platforms, open circulation, and an exposed structural framework, creating a distinctive architectural identity. The proposal successfully reinterprets the high-rise typology as a collective social environment rather than a purely functional or commercial tower. The integration of terraces, interaction decks, and vertical public spaces generates a dynamic spatial experience, while the lower levels establish a meaningful connection with the urban context. The sectional thinking is particularly strong, allowing visibility and interaction across multiple levels and reinforcing the idea of vertical community.
- I would recommend further refining the clarity of the circulation system so that movement through the different public, semi-public, and controlled zones becomes more intuitive and legible within the tower.
- The structural system, particularly the exposed exoskeleton and its relationship to the large open platforms, should be studied in greater depth to ensure both feasibility and coherence with the architectural intent.
- While the social decks are conceptually strong and visually engaging, they would benefit from a more detailed exploration of how they support everyday use, occupation patterns, and human-scale activity throughout different times of the day.
- Additionally, the project would be strengthened by addressing environmental performance more explicitly, particularly in terms of shading, rain protection, and thermal comfort for the highly exposed communal spaces.
- Overall, I would encourage a stronger integration between the conceptual ambition of the “Social Orbit” and its practical architectural execution to further ground the design and enhance its realism and usability.
