Work description
GENERALThe Research Group Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer focuses on systems where heat transfer is the main energy transfer mode. The aim is to develop more energy efficient systems. By doing this, the research contributes to formulating technical solutions for the reduction of CO2 emissions in compliance with the Green Deal initiative of the European Union. Based on the laws of thermodynamics, models are developed for thermal systems. These models are validated and based on experiments which are conducted in the laboratory. For these experiments up to date measurement equipment is available. Our LinkedIn-page can be found through the following link: https://www.linkedin.com/company/applied-thermodynamics-heat-transfer/YOUR JOBThe trainee will work on an experimental setup which will be used to experiment on the performance of a compressor based on the conditions of the working fluid at the intake and injection ports. The setup is called the ‘two-phase injection compressor’. The trainee will develop a methodology to get the setup to a certain desired steady operating point. The tasks to be performed by the trainee include:- Training in the LabView environment- Understanding the existing LabView VI’s- Tune PiD’s for smooth operation of the setup- Perform small-scale lab tests in order to verify the steady operation of the experimental setupNote that depending on the needs of the lab, your job could possibly still change to a different topic. This will however always be something in the fields of thermodynamics.
