Work description
3D printing technology allows to produce materials with a specific internal structure called also lattice structures. These structures may have a random topology inspired by naturally created materials like foams. We are interested in flexible structures allowing large deformations. The research on investigation of mechanical properties of these structures depending on material, topology, density is being performed in our Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics. The laboratory is fully equipped with material testing machines (tensile testing machines, DIC systems) and 3D SLA printer. The typical research workflow comprises computer design of structure geometry, 3D printing, measuring mechanical properties and computer simulation. Most probable activities of visiting student are supposed to be:- computer design of geometry of testing specimens,- 3D printing,- material testing, measurements,- processing of testing data,- research on influence of direction of 3D printing to mechanical properties of material,- evaluation of geometrical errors.
