Work description
ROS-Based Robotic Surgery AssistantOverview:This project leverages the Robot Operating System (ROS) to design a robotic surgery assistant aimed at enhancing precision, safety, and efficiency in surgical procedures. By integrating articulated robotic arms, specialized instruments, and computer vision systems, the assistant provides real-time feedback and adaptability in dynamic surgical environments. Surgeons will benefit from a seamless interface, allowing them to focus on decision-making while the robot executes delicate tasks such as suturing and tissue handling.Objectives:1) Develop a ROS-controlled robotic platform with surgical capabilities.2) Implement computer vision for real-time monitoring and situational awareness.3) Ensure compliance with surgical protocols and safety standards.4) Test and validate performance in simulations before clinical application.Outcomes:1) A functional prototype of a ROS-based robotic surgery assistant.2) Enhanced precision and reduced invasiveness in surgical tasks.3) Improved efficiency and workflow for surgical teams.Intern's Responsibilities:1) Program and integrate robotic functionalities using ROS.2) Collaborate with surgeons to align features with medical needs.3) Conduct rigorous testing and validation in simulated environments.4) Address ethical, safety, and regulatory considerations.
