İnci Shoainia is an architect and co-founder of Spika Architecture, based in Turkey. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and currently leads design studios at Ankara Medipol University. Her work focuses on competition-based design as a critical tool to explore spatial systems and relationships between context, movement, and time. She has participated in several international architectural competitions, receiving awards and recognitions including finalist positions and honorable mentions. Her projects investigate themes such as transition zones, adaptive reuse, and post-disaster spatial strategies. Alongside her professional practice, she conducts research on architectural history and cultural heritage. Her work aims to redefine architecture as a dynamic process that reveals latent potentials within existing environments.

Currently, I am working as a senior lecturer in the Interior Design Department at Raffles College of Higher Education. Before, I worked as an adjunct lecturer at NYIT, Abu Dhabi, and teaching assistant and instructor at Istanbul Technical University (I.T.U) for eleven years. Throughout these experiences, I have been responsible for the courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. I hold an undergraduate degree in Architecture from ITU . Additionally, I was awarded my Ph.D. by the Department of History of Art at ITU. I completed my Masters' degree in Industrial Design at ITU in 2007. My current research interests lie in a wide range of interior design topics; such as furniture design, adaptive reuse, cinematic space, interior design history, spatial narrative, domestic interiors, cultural aspects, handcrafting, and semiotics. Having an architecture degree allowed me to deal with environmental factors and to understand building structure, technics, and logic. My industrial design master's degree helped me to understand the smaller scale and develop a human-centered design approach.

I aim to realize environmentally sensitive designs that aim to increase the quality of life of people and to work with the right teammates at this stage. By paying attention to the unity of human, nature and architecture in my designs, I aim to produce creative ideas that will solve the complexity of daily life and transform architecture from a concrete block into a living organism. In this direction, I completed my 4-year education at Balıkesir University Faculty of Architecture for the period of 2017-2021. Within the scope of compulsory internship, I completed my 30 working days office and 30 working days field internship. I deserved to get a C1 level certificate in the foreign language exam (English) and spent 4 months and 15 days in Poland/Krakow with the Student Exchange Program.
