Proposed planning & designing of a community center for optimal children development at Nyarugusu refugee camp in Kigoma, Tanzan

Project idea

"We are facing the worst refugee crisis since WWII, the numbers are growing, we must remember this are not just statistics, this are real people (men, women and children) who need our help, we need to find more durable solutions so that we can build their own lives" (Pamela, 2016) American Ambassador in Tanzania.

Project description

The community center planning and designing is focused on ujamaa settlement scheme, provision of integration within the site to the residents, leaving behind the classes (refugee or hosting) and creating a familyhood system. The designing of the community center will foresee the present and future criteria perspectives upon giving a wide space to the residents to associate easily with no conflict.

Technical information

PREFAB-TECHNOLOGY will be adopted into the design and construction of the buildings. Use of photocatalytic concrete panels and components will also be adopted in assembling of the buildings.
