Eco Educational Centre in Stryi, Ukraine

Project idea

Our aim was to create a building that would be inviting to locals and that would serve as a safe haven in desperate times; the activities included would ensure a new never-ending breath in the project, with accessibility an safety features promising a structure people can look forward to visiting and for protection when needed.

Project description

Our project's main concept comes from it having a main courtyard that implements natural elements (for harmony with the surrounding area) and helps with ventilation. Our roof is also designed to incorporate several social activities and elements of renewable energy. We hope to introduce a new hub for locals to enjoy and socialize as a group; despite the different functions of each floor, the overall building is designed as one piece to signify unity and connectedness.

Technical information

Calculations were carried out for the estimated energy usage of our building which are then laid out throughout the project. The exterior has a more modern look with curtain walls that incorporate BIPV panels onto them.
