The project presents a well-thought-out proposal for the transformation of the Bulovna site into a contemporary museum complex that sensitively integrates historic buildings with new architectural interventions. I particularly appreciate the thorough consideration of urban relationships throughout the entire complex and the effort to create a clear and functionally interconnected ensemble of buildings with high-quality public spaces. A key strength of the design is its comprehensive approach to addressing the entire site. The new additions complement the existing buildings in a natural way and create a clearly legible environment for visitors. I also view positively the use of materials and the scale of the new structures, which respect the character of the original industrial architecture while also introducing a contemporary aesthetic. The design offers a diverse range of functions and lays the groundwork for a vibrant cultural center that can be used year-round. Clear circulation routes, a well-thought-out division of functions, and an emphasis on the quality of outdoor spaces contribute to good visitor orientation and the overall usability of the complex. For the project’s further development, it would be interesting to emphasize the unique story of the Bulovna and the history of hop-growing even more directly within the architectural concept and the visitor route. A stronger connection between the spatial design and the exhibition content could offer visitors an even more immersive experience and reinforce the identity of the entire museum.Overall, this is a very well-executed design that demonstrates the ability to work with a large site, coordinate various functions, and sensitively develop the historic environment using contemporary architectural means.
