"The 'Sang Siah House of Dualities' is a sophisticated architectural response to the historical density and cultural heritage of Shiraz. The project effectively navigates the tension between tradition and modernity through a clear conceptual anchor. The design successfully creates a 'silent' and restrained exterior that respects the urban fabric of the Sang Siah district while opening into a dynamic, light-filled interior sequence. The application of the 50×50 principle—balancing living and leisure—demonstrates a deep understanding of traditional Shirazi residential patterns reinterpreted for a contemporary lifestyle. The technical massing and the use of courtyards as primary drivers for ventilation and light show great professional maturity."
"To further elevate this project, I recommend focusing on the atmospheric texture and the sensory transition between the city and the sanctuary:
Material Narratives: While the exterior is commendably restrained, exploring a gradient in brickwork textures could enhance the 'silence' of the facade. Moving from a solid base to a more porous or relief-heavy pattern near the vaulted entrance would create a more engaging dialogue with the historical context.
Defining the 'Sacred Void': Treat the courtyards not just as functional light wells, but as 'designed pauses'. Introducing subtle changes in floor levels or integrating a contemporary water element could strengthen the Atmospheric DNA of the house, providing both acoustic texture and natural cooling.
The Threshold Experience: The vaulted entrance is your most critical transition. Supplement this by detailing the interior of the vault to create a sense of 'compression and release,' slowing down the pace of the inhabitant as they leave the public alley and enter the private realm."
