Work description
Empa is a national research laboratory and part of the ETH Domain. We conduct cutting-edge materials and technology research, generating interdisciplinary solutions to major challenges faced by industry, and create the necessary scientific basis to ensure that our society develops in a sustainable manner.The Laboratory for advanced materials processing specializes in advanced 2D and 3D manufacturing processes, with research focused on innovative material designs, intelligent manufacturing, and sustainable production methods.This internship focuses on the development of an automated experimental platform combining motion control, optical instrumentation, and software automation.Tasks:• Integration of motorized systems• Experimental setup development• Optical instrumentation• Python-based automation and control• Data acquisition and calibrationThe work is multidisciplinary and lies at the interface of robotics, optics, mechatronics, and scientific programming.
