SkyRescue: AI-Driven Drone Innovation for Life-Saving MissionsOverview: This internship at the Mobile Robotics Lab focuses on creating an AI-enhanced drone system for search and rescue operations in disaster-hit areas. The role combines aerospace engineering, robotics, machine learning, and embedded systems to build highly capable autonomous aerial platforms that navigate extreme conditions and deliver vital real-time data to emergency responders worldwide with unmatched precision, efficiency, reliability, and adaptability.Objectives:1) Design and develop autonomous drone systems with advanced sensing and AI-based detection capabilities.2) Implement multi-sensor fusion, flight control algorithms, and an obstacle avoidance strategy.3) Integrate communication protocols for real-time data relay and emergency response coordination.Outcomes:1) Hands-on experience with AI-driven robotics and aerospace systems.2) Proficiency in computer vision, flight dynamics, and embedded system integration.3) Ability to develop end-to-end autonomous systems for real-world disaster scenarios.Intern's Responsibilities:1) Develop and test computer vision models for human detection in diverse environments.2) Implement navigation algorithms and optimize drone flight performance in unpredictable terrains.3) Integrate hardware and software for seamless data acquisition, processing, and secure transmission pipelines.
