Project idea

The project comes up from the desire to bring back the sea to the city of Beirut. Therefore, our desing works as a link (nexo), so much for the port and the international market, as for the community with new green , recreational and maritime spaces. We start from the recognition of the symbolic and cultural value of the silos, the only structure standing after the explosion. In this way, our proposal is developped around them, being a nuclear point of our interventions.

Project description

Generating 360° views of the silos is one of the generating ideas of the project, so the proposal counts with spatial situations that allow to see the silos with different backgrounds. Taking the silos as a starting point, the activities were distributed radially. At the same time, generate large urban parks which serve as a recreation and buffer area for the city.
