Mil-office

Project idea

Mil-office or so-called the Millenial office is the first office on site, in fact, is the first in the city with outdoor working space with a city view in a floating garden. It is an office with a new working ambiance, it is the first private office with co-working ambiance/vibes to help boost up collaboration and work quality. Mil-office could be a trendsetter and could give a positive impact not only on the building's users but as well to the surroundings. It has a futuristic design, with a vertical garden that functioned as a green aesthetics. Every side of the building has this void, which functioned as a "floating garden". The floating garden itself is a concept in this building. It is functioned as an outdoor working space, with the goal where this working space could help reduce the office worker's stress levels, boost up social activity, and boost up working quality. It also does give a positive impact on the neighborhood, as this floating garden could form biodiversity in the area, and could act as an extra green room (sustainability value) in the area.

Project description

Mil office is an office that could provide efficiency, could help boost up working activity, and happens to be one of the newest, groundbreaking, futuristic designs on site. Mil office comes with a primary function as an office, co-working, and meeting room. And its secondary function is retail. It has these 4 facilities that every office might need, and the office users' can get it all in one building. With such a complete function in one building, we can have an extra target market coming from a different background. And mil-office has a low competitor on-site, as most offices were spread 3km away, while some offices that are located near to "mil office" is a low-grade ordinary office. As we all know these days, young people (millennials) prefer to choose an office that doesn't feel like an office. Especially these days, there is a bunch of startup companies, where most of them are searching for an office that makes them feel at home and comfortable. They are not hunting for a big professional company space, but they prefer a working space that is relaxing and comfortable. With this, the mil-office has an answer to that. Mil office is an office that targets various markets and users, by providing a complete facility in one building and a new working ambiance. Mil-office is a high rise that has a positive value not only for the buildings themselves but as well for the surroundings. Such as value in the design, to the environment, to the context, and to the users. It also is a trendsetter, as it has this "the first on-site" value. This design also helps in answering global issues, such as global warming. The exterior design is a collaboration between technology and greenery (sustainability).

There are some parts of Jakarta which is filled by an expatriate, and turns this site is one of them. Mostly the expatriates on-site are Japanese. The site has an area of 2777m2 and a total height of 16 floors. For a more specific location, the site is located in Blok M, South Jakarta. The site is flanked by 2 main roads that happen to not be connected with one another. The site has this 24-hour life, as in the morning it is crowded with office workers and during the night is crowded by the student, young people and sometimes festivals.

Mil-office
