So the heart of the project which the tower is devising the project into two parts, social and cultural and it's the inviting point where people will be attracted to get inside and interactive point that will make people exchange and get them into different parts in the building.

Project description

I’m going to start with my urban proposal: The campus is an important part of the city, but the borders make it a bit isolated. Therefore, my urban proposal is to make a connection between university campus and Famagusta city, also between students and locals. So social cultural exchange is the main purpose of the project. I want to mention my inspiration of this project which is Vessel project in New York City, the idea is to have a heart in the project that reflect the feeling inside and outside, and the attraction also vertical circulation. This project is attracting people to get them inside and take benefit of the visual connection between the floors. With the help of axis that I took from inside and outside of the university, where we have the most pedestrian flow (the most crowded residential buildings, and the other principal axis from 2 gates main and secondary gates that it may be open in the future). I came to this division of those spaces in order to make my project being accessible from all sides. The main entrance of the project is facing to the axis coming from EMU CL square where we have an important flow of pedestrian. On the site plan we can see the heart of the project which the tower is devising the project into two parts, social and cultural, where all functions are active function, and all of them are extended to outside (clubs, library, exhibition, cafe, auditorium etc.). The main section is explaining the connection of the tower with the rest of the building, we can see the horizontal circulation, when people are standing on one floor, they can find themselves in another floor with a continuity of functions each part with a specific theme relating to the other parts. The connection of main tower with the building is made by taking extensions from the edges of each twisted floor. In addition to that I played with solids and voids in those connections. The first floor is where we have all the facilities for the students and locals as workshops and cinema screen room etc.). Third floor is where the meditation and Pilates studios are placed leading us to the fourth floor directly to a calm space where we have yoga studio with an outdoor Yoga terrace.

Saludos cordiales.
