Project idea

This wellness center harnesses the natural regenerative power of fossilized coral reefs to cultivate a nurturing refuge where menopausal women in El Quseir can be truly seen, heard, and supported physically, emotionally and environmentally. By infusing coral‑derived minerals into therapeutic hydrotherapy pools, sculptural installations and bio‑active supplements rich in over 70 trace elements essential for bone health and hormonal balance. The center creates a microclimate that alleviates bone density loss and promotes endocrine harmony Complementary programming including guided mindfulness, gentle movement classes, hydrotherapy pool, salt cave, Morroco bath, support circles, nutrition and herbal‑medicine workshops, and educational seminars—ensures each woman receives personalized, evidence‑based support throughout her menopausal journey . The facility features a laboratory dedicated to the sustainable extraction and formulation of organic medications from fossilized corals. The lab develops targeted therapeutics ranging from bone‑strengthening supplements to potent anti‑inflammatory agents, all under rigorous ecological stewardship To guarantee a consistently safe and health‑promoting atmosphere, all incoming water is processed through a multilayer coral‑based filtration system: high‑purity fossil‑coral media adsorb heavy metals and pesticides, neutralize acidity and remineralize the water with essential marine minerals Meanwhile, incoming air is passed through bio‑activated skin that stabilize indoor temperature by mimicking coral‑reef respiration dynamics Beyond these individual therapies, the center advances women’s rights through robust community outreach and advocacy, partnering with national and civil‑society organizations to close healthcare gaps and destigmatize menopause across Egypt.

Project description

The Center is organized into three seamlessly integrated wellness zones, each centered on a vertical “coral core” that naturally purifies and enriches all water throughout the building. In the Therapeutic Waters Zone, women benefit from a temperature‑controlled, mineral‑rich salt‑water pool—continuously filtered through fossilized coral—to support joint mobility and strengthen bones, alongside a private physiotherapy suite offering tailored rehabilitation. A nearby Himalayan‑salt halotherapy cave, infused with coral‑derived aerosols, promotes clearer breathing and deep mental relaxation. The Sensory Renewal Zone surrounds the coral spine with bright, welcoming spa and salon spaces. Where they enjoy coral‑mineral scrubs, sea‑kelp facials and calming steam therapies to improve skin health and uplift the spirit. A Moroccan hammam combines gentle exfoliation with coral‑infused steam to relax muscles and detoxify the body, while a modern fitness studio hosts low‑impact classes—from pilates to restorative yoga—so women can stay active and balanced at every stage of menopause. In the Active Living & Learning Zone, participants step into a hands‑on Coral‑Lab workshop where they extract and formulate organic supplements and skincare products from fossilized coral under professional guidance—empowering them with the science behind natural remedies. Overlooking landscaped terraces and meditation gardens planted with native succulents and sea‑grasses, a healthy‑herbal café serves marine‑mineral‑infused dishes and tonics that reflect the Center’s commitment to holistic well‑being. The Accommodation Wing provides private rooms and shared lounges designed for rest, reflection and gentle social interaction, enabling women to recharge between treatments or extend their visit for multi‑day wellness programs tailored to their individual needs. By integrating therapeutic waters, spa treatments and hands‑on labs, the Center offers menopausal women holistic physical care, emotional support and practical education. Its outreach and workshops also engage younger women fostering informed health habits and creating an empowered, multi‑generational community.

Technical information

The Center occupies a 15,000 m² waterfront land overlooking the Red Sea and is organized across two main levels plus a sub‑basement. An English court around the hydrotherapy pool provides both enclosure and privacy for guests. The structure relies on a robust concrete flat‑slab and column system for long‑lasting stability, while three full‑height, glazed “water‑filtration courts” penetrate every floor, housing vertical coral‑media cores that continuously purify and mineralize all incoming water. Surrounding the building is a smart, parametric façade—an “air‑filtration skin” perforated with thousands of fine vents that automatically open or close in response to wind direction and speed. This living shell, its panels supported by a lightweight space‑truss framework, mimics the natural breathing of coral reefs to maintain constant airflow and ideal indoor air quality without mechanical fans. Together, the coral water cores and the responsive, truss‑supported air skin create a fully organic, breathable environment that enhances both the physical comfort and emotional well‑being of every woman who comes seeking support.

ZAMAN
