Lower Hill Area Urban Redevelopment

Project idea

The project is located in the Lower Hill area of Nairobi city, surrounded by the proposed railway city, upper hill and industrial areas. The region is set to undergo an urban regeneration, with various transformative infrastructures upcoming (the proposed Nairobi JKIA to James Gichuru Rd Expressway project).The students were tasked in re imagining the future image of the city, in response to mentioned proposals.

Project description

The project's execution is in two parts, firstly in the urban regeneration of the area and lastly in designing a mixed use development that shows it's application in the proposed master plan and its response to the context.
