Multi-Sensory School For Enhancing ADHD Education

Idea projektu

The project’s main idea is based on solving the educational issue of children with ADHD. ( Primary School Age ) Through studies and research; it was found that the multi-sensory – based teaching technique is the best solution for children with ADHD, as their main problem is simply summarized in: making sense of the environment surrounding them and focusing on one task at a time. The project aims to achieve some of the targets from the SDG's goals; the goals are: 1- Quality Education 2- Affordable And Clean Energy Design Concept: The concept is taken from the academic chemical representation of atoms and molecules of the active substance in the mediation given to children with ADHD. In organic chemistry the hexagon represents the atom that creates all organic substances. this atom revolves around its axis in a very random orbits creating a cloud similar to the noise that revolves in the child's mind.

Popis projektu

Research Based Design. The project consists of the following parts: 1- Classroom Design - Pale green color to calm and reduce hyperactivities. - Distraction sources where placed in positions where we need them to focus most. (Blackboard unit, teacher flooring area and student chair). - Fidgeting furniture pieces to reduce: boredom, the demand to standing up and moving around. - Playful activities are placed as a reward that is given regularly after a certain time. these activities are inspires from the activities that therapists recommend to children with ADHD. - windows are placed higher that the students eye level while sitting to decease distraction. - only Ambient lights are used - no task lights or hidden lights are visible while the class is on. to reduce shadows. 2- Multi-Sensory Classes Area 'Social Studies Department' - The zone is divided into smaller booths each simulates the full environment of a certain era based on the curriculum. - Their hyperactivity was found to be useful in terms of generating sustainable renewable energy through applying eco-system flooring technologies that generates energy through pressure of footsteps. -Simulated information through holograms and screens to achieve the multi-sensory design approach. 3- Reception Area - inspired from the concept of the atom, applied in the flooring and ceiling patterns.

Technické informácie

The structure used in the hexagonal building is Post-Tension to decrease the columns used in this large space. The building has a single floor. The main building is regular Skeleton structure and is a 4 floors building, 3 of them is identical floors except the ground floor.

Multi-Sensory School For Enhancing ADHD Education

Good afternoon! I liked your hexagonal-shape based concept! A group formed of hexagonal shaped volumes enlivened the overall plan of the building. The project presents an interior solution for three main zones. I would like to highlight a good elaboration of zone 2. The accommodation turned out to be the most interesting, bright in terms of layout and design. In zone 3, the idea itself is attractive, but not enough attention is paid to the details. For example, windows are knocked out of the general solution. Perhaps it was worth providing some curtains or blinds, trying to change the proportions of window openings and their division. The project shows views of only one part of the room, which is why it is impossible to get a complete picture of the object. I would like to look at the solution and the input group. Zone 1 is the room where children spend most of the time. It feels like the author has seriously worked on the selection of furniture, the development of its individual solutions and the possibility of transformation. Against this background, it seems that little attention is paid to the ceiling, where the use of standard luminaires could be avoided. I would like to wish the author further development and success on his creative path!
