Benghazi Central Library

Idea projektu

the idea of the project is serve the main purpuse wich are: -there is no central library in benghazi . -also having alot of interested in reading versus the absence of places to contain them. the main proplem in the project was how to make harmony between the library and the site(site outline,nighborhoods,pedestrain axes ,the existing parking),and acording to the site wich located in the center of benghazi the library allowed to the pedestrain axes to breakthrough the mass with central plazaat the middle that ispired by traditional courtyard in the old city. also the symbolism of the city is emphasized by traditional archs that used in mass faced.

Popis projektu

this project divided to four floors wich contains: 1-reading area (60%)-(kids library -electronic library-teenagers library-journals and research library-audio&visual library-rare book library) 2-public section(6%) this section contain the lobby and cafeteia 3- cultural section (11%) contain a multiple purpuse hall (350 person) and also a temporary exhibition 4-adminstration(2%) 5-service(17%)

the counstruction of this project is mixed between wafel slap wich used because it can allowing for a 24m span and steel trusses wich usen in the external slides
