Delta Museum for science and technology

Idea projektu

The Delta Museum for Science and Technology is affiliated to Mansoura University. It includes 4 exhibition halls divided between natural and industrial sciences. It also includes a research center (MUVP), the Mansoura Center for Vertebrate Fossils, the first of its kind in the Middle East, and the discoverer of the Mansourasaurus dinosaur.. The goal of the museum is to simplify science and present it in different ways that suit different age groups, especially Researchers and scientific research support at the university.

Popis projektu

The main concept of the museum is based on reducing the building ratio to take into account the percentage of green areas in the land previously, until it reached 10% in the ground floor. Through the vertical extension, you find the research center and the main exhibition hall on the lower level as a simulation of the process of discovering fossils. The ceiling of the ground floor was integrated into the general site as an extension of it and serves as outdoor and shaded exhibition areas.. The exhibition halls were also placed on the upper floors in the sequence established by the project (simulating the museum journey).

Technické informácie

The architectural design, which is very challenging in terms of structural engineering, was done using a steel-concrete construction and a system of diagonal steel and concrete supports.

Delta Museum for science and technology

First of all I want to thank you for participating and congratulate you on this beautiful concept. -The space management of the structure is very good, the idea of the vertical open area for the central exhibition hall gives a great value to it, as it the main object in the whole structure and highlight that area very well -The presentation of the whole project from renders, elevations, sections to plans is very good, the color usage and the position of the renders is very good, where you are showing the points of interest in the project. -Good thinking of reducing the building area of the ground floor for green space usage, more so, to increase the green space area you can use parts of the roof too, as a green roof. -Integrating the ground floor with the general site is a very clever idea, where the upper part building is leaning on it, making a beautiful effect on the main entrance. -Covering the elevations with decoration elements, to control the amount of light in the building, using ventilating systems and eco-friendly materials is a good way for making much better sustainable project as you did. Per total great project and the idea of making a science hub is very good, where it brings social, intellectual and economic benefits to the area, the attention for sustainable buildings and making more eco-friendly structures, is a pillar for making a good future. Keep up the good work! Arch. Jury. Ezzeddin Alasali
