可持续性生活村设计

Idea projektu

The project expands the southern area of Brněnec Village, located in Czech, into a beautiful, sustainable and community-minded modern sustainable housing that meets the needs of the community.

Popis projektu

Based on the needs, we divide the whole site into three residential groups and a clubhouse collection, which provide targeted housing for the elderly, families and tourists, and form their own green plaza in each group. In addition, we took advantage of the riverside advantage of the site to design a long clubhouse space close to the river, and naturally formed a good riverside streetscape, and finally we transformed the historic building on the west side of the site into a gymnasium, achieving the best effect of maximum protection and renewal of history. For the outdoor landscaping, we designed a connecting walkway on the second floor to all areas, and formed a natural roof garden in the clubhouse for rest and planting. Finally,we used engineered wood and textiles in innovative ways, such as covering the stadium roof and the handrails of walkway with white fabric, which flows freely in the wind.

Technické informácie

The building is a reinforced concrete frame structure.

可持续性生活村设计

This proposal aims to create a sustainable residential expansion in Brněnec Village, Czech Republic, through the introduction of three distinct residential clusters and a riverside clubhouse. Each group targets specific user groups—elderly residents, families, and tourists—while incorporating shared green spaces and walkable connections. The adaptive reuse of a historical building as a gymnasium is a positive gesture toward heritage preservation and contextual continuity. While the urban layout is logically zoned and the riverside streetscape offers scenic value, the architectural articulation and design resolution remain relatively basic. The use of reinforced concrete frame structures with textile and wood detailing shows an effort toward material sensitivity, but the treatment of facades, rooflines, and public-private transitions lacks formal depth and spatial richness. The walkway system and green roofs are promising components but would benefit from stronger integration with environmental performance strategies, such as shading, water management, or passive ventilation. Overall, the project presents a well-intentioned vision for sustainable community housing, but it requires further architectural development and experiential refinement to elevate it from a functional layout to a spatially compelling living environment.
