Youth Innovation Park: A Center of Work- Recreation

This proposal sets out a commendable vision for an inclusive and dynamic youth-oriented urban space in Khulna, Bangladesh, integrating work, education, and recreation into a unified architectural concept. The project is based on the idea of “breaking boundaries”—social, cultural, and generational—and aims to create open, adaptable, and participatory spaces that foster creativity, leadership, and community engagement. While the conceptual framework is socially valuable and the goals well articulated, the architectural expression remains relatively underdeveloped. The massing, zoning, and spatial hierarchies lack clarity, and the drawings provide limited insight into how different user groups would navigate and inhabit the space. The use of RCC post-slab construction and trusses is appropriate for large spans, but more refinement is needed in articulating how these elements support both functional and aesthetic goals. Furthermore, the vertical brick louvers are a promising passive design feature but could be better integrated into a holistic environmental strategy. Overall, the project has a strong mission and admirable intent, yet it requires further spatial development, technical detailing, and architectural resolution to fully realize its potential as an innovation and recreation hub.
