ARCHI-NETWORK

Idea projektu

Students of the Architecture Department at Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University have to share their faculty building with students from other departments. Since the faculty is only open during certain hours and space is limited, they need a space where they can work comfortably without time restrictions. Bolu is a quiet city with limited social opportunities. ARCHI-NETWORK aims to enhance both the working environment and social opportunities for the students of Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University. Archi-Network was inspired by the concepts of Social Network and Sociometry. Based on social networking, this space will establish a communication network through actors and their connections. The space will function as a NODE and BRIDGE, allowing students to interact with each other and with architecture students from all over the country.

Popis projektu

The main part of this project is the node center. Events are held here, and festivals are organized. Panels and activities take place in the amphitheater, which also functions as a seating area. There are two rooms available for student communities. In the café, students can meet their nourishment and relaxation needs. In the three group study rooms, students can prepare their presentations; in the two large studios, they can work on their projects; and in the model production studio, they can visualize their projects in three dimensions.

Technické informácie

ARCHI-NETWORK

Dear Zeynep, Thank you for your great effort done in the project. However, there are some comments concerning the spatial organization of spaces of ARCHI-NETWORK building. For the entrance of the building, it was expected to find a hall with a regular shape that receives students from all over the country. In addition, the vertical circulation was better to find it each other (i.e. the stairs near the elevators). Also, the public bathrooms were expected to include a cubical for the handicapped (disabled) because there are several students who use the building with different abilities. Concerning the technical information, there is a difference between the building material which is reinforced concrete and the construction system which is skeleton (columns and beams). Also, it not clear in the design of plans, the benefit from making a site analysis!! How did the site analysis was reflected on the form generation, the organization of spaces according to the north direction particularly that the building is designed for architectural students? Another thing is, there is laminated blue glass on the roofs of the building which makes me feel that the building is covered with photovoltaic cells to generate electricity (for example). However, these cells do not appear neither in the sections nor the model. My advice for you in the coming projects is to revise the drawings and its relation with each other and to always search for the theories of every types of building. Wish you all good luck !!
