EcoWise Stryi Center

Idea projektu

Our project is an Educational center and shelter designed for Ukraine. The main idea behind the project comes from the concept of the early Christian church. These churches were not only places for worship, but also for learning. They were often hidden or protected, especially during difficult times. We found this idea very meaningful, especially for the Ukrainian people, who are known for being religious and strong in their beliefs.

Popis projektu

The main goal of our design is to create a space that supports both education and safety, just like the early churches. To express this idea, we designed separate paths (circulations) inside the building

Technické informácie

The construction of this project relies on Reinforced concrete for the columns and slabs and clay bricks for the walls.

The project thoughtfully draws inspiration from the early Christian church, which effectively combines spiritual refuge with education—a concept deeply resonant for the Ukrainian context. The idea of creating a safe and educational shelter highlights a strong cultural and emotional connection, giving the design meaningful purpose. The use of separate circulation paths within the building is a promising approach to ensuring both functional clarity and safety. To strengthen the project, it would be helpful to provide more detailed explanations and visuals showing how the circulation paths work—especially how they support safety and educational activities simultaneously. Expanding on how the building’s form and layout embody the concept of protection and refuge could deepen the narrative. Additionally, more information about the choice of materials, such as the advantages of clay bricks in terms of insulation or durability, would enhance the technical understanding of the design. Overall, the project captures an important cultural idea and has the potential to offer a valuable, functional space for education and shelter.

Develop detailed floor plans and circulation diagrams to clearly show how separate paths enhance safety and educational use. Explore architectural features that physically express protection and refuge, such as sheltered outdoor spaces or fortified entry points. Provide more information on material performance—how reinforced concrete and clay bricks contribute to durability, thermal comfort, and local building practices. Consider incorporating natural light and ventilation strategies to improve the indoor environment for users. Investigate flexible interior layouts that can adapt to different educational activities and shelter needs.
