Project idea

Design of a residential atrium space integrating softscape planting, organic forms, and multi-level mezzanine planning to create a lush, inviting interior courtyard within a residential context.

Project description

The project presents a residential atrium design featuring organic curvilinear forms in the floor plan with integrated green spaces, water features, and seating areas. The design includes a ground floor plan and a mezzanine plan at 1:50 scale, with mass plans showing the spatial organization. The softscape incorporates St. Augustine Grass and Acacia Gerrardii trees suited for the Egyptian climate. The atrium features a rich color scheme of earth tones, greens, and warm browns, with materials including natural textures, patterned surfaces, and fabric elements. The space includes children's play areas, curved seating lounges, and atmospheric lighting.

Technical information

Plans presented at 1:50 scale with sections AA and BB at 1:25 scale. The design includes ground floor and mezzanine level plans with mass plan diagrams. Materials palette includes natural stone, wood, textured fabrics, and green plantings. The softscape uses St. Augustine Grass for ground cover and Acacia Gerrardii as ornamental trees requiring minimal maintenance and suited to local climate conditions.
