VIADUCTO EL SALADILLO, PARK AND INTERACTIVE CENTER
Idea projektu
The Viaducto El Saladillo is a magnificent work made at the end of the 19th century, with unique characteristics in South América. It stands out for its architectural, engineering, symbolic and constructive value. Today it needs an intervention to ensure its conservation. Our project seeks to revalue it, generating an Interactive Center and Park. The concept idea was REFLECTION: a mirror where the viaduct lays its foundations, to rise and frame the sky between its archs. A mirror, because we believe it increases the value of things and magnifies them; opens paths to imaginary spaces. Our roof building will become that reflection, built between the viaducts, underground. This architectural element defines and containes de inner space.
Popis projektu
The project for the Viaduct Park, starts from the idea of continuing the linearity; we proposed a fourth line that allows the park to be sectorized, generating main areas where all the senses will be challenged. Each sector has its own qualities designed to create emotions and conditions to enjoy the public space. Through this experience, the park allows each visitor to live and create their own adventure. The access to the Interactive Center building is on the roof itself, "the reflection", at ground 0.00; or in heights at the footbridges of both viaducts with a panoramic view of the whole complex. It is project that appeals to the sensory; both structures, the brick and metal viaduct, create a mystical scene. During the tour, they are sometimes just a background, others, become protagonists and even disappear, creating different scales and sensations for the viewer. The main entrance to the Interactive Center is through ramps to the first level where we find cultural and leisure spaces. There are volumes that are suspended from the roof of the building. At the lowest level (-8.00 mts) a free space lays with relaxation places, technological facilities, and a triple height garden with views towards the viaducts.
Technické informace
The proyect is resolved with concrete walls and foundations, and the steel beams are the protagonists. Among its disadvantages is its thermical behavior, which is solved with ventiladed ceeling system.
