Nové centrum Hostivař

Idea projektu

The task of our project was to create a town hall and a cultural center for the Prague Hostivař district. We also dealt with the building's connection to public transport and the public space in front of the buildings. We added a park with a water area to the land.

Popis projektu

Our project consists of the following buildings: the town hall, a multifunctional cultural center, an administrative building and an apartment building. The project also includes an urban solution and a commercial parterre. The urban solution is based on the main routes of movement of people from public transport to buildings and between buildings. The public space is made up of direct paths between buildings and zones with greenery intended for relaxation. The town hall is located closest to public transport, has six floors above ground, and the mass increases towards the corner. The cultural center contains two multi-purpose halls, a commercial space and other spaces designed, for example, for holding exhibitions.

Technické informace

The structural system of the objects is columnar with a rigid core. The main supporting material is reinforced concrete.

Nové centrum Hostivař

This project offers a coherent and contextually grounded urban intervention that thoughtfully reimagines the civic heart of the Hostivař district. The strategic placement of the town hall, cultural center, administrative, and residential buildings demonstrates a strong understanding of public space activation and pedestrian movement, especially in relation to public transport connections. The layering of direct pathways and green relaxation zones skillfully balances functionality with user comfort. The architectural language, based on clear volumetric compositions and a columnar structural system, ensures flexibility and long-term adaptability. Greater articulation of the spatial hierarchy between civic, cultural, and residential functions, along with enhanced water-sensitive urban design strategies, could further elevate the proposal. Overall, this project represents a mature and well-integrated approach to sustainable district-level regeneration.
