Delta General Hospital

This hospital design responds to a critical regional need for accessible healthcare by introducing a 350-bed general hospital in New Mansoura, serving an estimated population of 130,000. The functional zoning is handled with clarity—residential blocks, clinical services, and support spaces are logically organized. The vertical integration of four inpatient units per floor, each with 30 beds and a dedicated nursing station, reflects an efficient approach to modular healthcare design. The location near major institutional anchors enhances accessibility and future adaptability. However, while the planning logic is sound, the architectural expression remains conventional. The façade treatment, entrance articulation, and healing environment strategies could be further developed to elevate the hospital beyond a utilitarian facility into a truly patient-centered space. Greater emphasis on daylighting, biophilic design, and intuitive wayfinding would improve the user experience for both patients and staff. Overall, this is a commendable and functionally well-planned healthcare proposal that could benefit from enhanced environmental and experiential design strategies.
