Project idea

Inspired by the spatial and formal logic of Zaha Hadid Architects' Daxing International Airport in Beijing, the project evolves from a simple rectangular mass into six fluid arms radiating from a central core — ensuring perfect symmetry and optimal passenger flow across all directions.

Project description

The terminal operates on two main levels: the upper dedicated to international flights, the lower to national/domestic flights. A mezzanine level bridges both visually and functionally, providing spatial continuity while maintaining direct and clear passenger circulation. Each level has its own independent baggage circuit. Both circuits converge in the underground level before separating again into two distinct tracks. A dedicated transit zone — zone d'escale — houses capsule hotel facilities and dual-sided passport control. At the heart of the terminal lies a landscaped garden before customs, offering calm and natural orientation to travelers. A fully glazed central axis runs from the main entrance to the furthest gate. The control tower was repositioned at the central core — proximity to the administrative wing, optimized visual coverage of all runways, transforming it into the vertical landmark of the entire project.

Technical information

Upper level for international flights, lower level for domestic flights with mezzanine for seamless passenger flow. Fully glazed central axis for natural light penetration. Control tower positioned at geometric center for complete runway coverage.
