Nahar Hotel

Project idea

A boutique hotel in Giza near the Grand Egyptian Museum, treating the site as a living extension of the place's memory where contemporary architecture intersects with the legacy of ancient Egyptian civilization in an ongoing visual and spatial dialogue.

Project description

The hotel is located in the heart of Giza, near the Grand Egyptian Museum, within an urban context that bears one of the most significant cultural legacies in human history. The project treats the site not merely as a geographical backdrop, but as a living extension of the place's memory. The project's philosophical premise is that Pharaonic architecture was not merely seen, but experienced. Therefore, the hotel treats the open space as a sensory journey that begins with enclosure and awe, then gradually opens towards light, in a symbolic emulation of the path of discovery and eternity that characterized the temples and the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Technical information

The design includes ground floor and first floor plans at scale 1:100, with approximately 742 m2 area per floor. Program includes lobby, entrance, waiting area, reception, cafe, gift shop, gallery, lounge area, restaurant, kitchen, toilets, and double-height spaces. Zoning diagrams and bubble diagrams illustrate the spatial relationships between programmatic elements.
