Project idea
The project is the design of a multi-disciplinary collective space lab for the South African National Space Agency (SANSA). Space Lab has a launch complex alongside a launch-vehicle-construction-and-assembly facility, with a collective research component that encourages meaningful public interaction and integration.
Project description
The project designed a new space centre for South Africa that focuses on launching small to medium-sized rockets and only launches unmanned missions. The project did a full master plan design but focused on the integration hangar as well as an administrative and research department placed on the inside of the hangar.
Technical information
The project was investigated on an urban level all the way down to finishing details. It was important to resolve the complexity of the project on all levels.
