F@*k the rules, fre@k the limits, f@*k the restrictions, Can we do a building that could do something that Detroit wasn't able to do for a long time? Well... we can, let's move.
The Skyline in every city normaly is a static element that only got several changes in mid an long terms, as consecunce, capacity of resilience or adaptability is limited, but... *ARCHITECTURE THAT IS MEANT TO EXPAND OR CONTRACT ACTIVELY* has the infinite potential to adapt and transform his spaces and activities, can become a *REALITY BREAKER*
Concept_ *SELF GENERATIVE SKYLINE* Break of Reality is inspired by what makes Detroit one of the most important cities in the world long ago, the project is a monument to movement, that uses vertical moves in order to modify his activities and program, and horizontally using active facade System in order to adapt to climate conditions.
Dear Juan Sebastian Jaramillo Ortiz
Your project is very relevant. It copes with a worldwide concern - the future need of further ?development and at the same time the need to preserve open land.?
While the system you suggest is interesting both in its technology and program, please allow me to ?pose three questions which might contribute to your project: The first related to ethics, the second ?related to design the third to program. ?
?1)? Ethics – Does your proposal allow endless growth? If so, why? Are there are any restrictions or ?limits, if so what are they? Are they related to weather condition, to sustainability of living, to ?the city’s existing skyline? To other important monuments? To the prediction of further growth ?and expansion??
?2)? Design –a) How is the design of a building of this kind different from “typical” design? Your ?proposal is rather conventional both in it language and in its variety. Could such a building ?could take the advantage of its vertical growth to generate a new poetic way of living, a new ?architectural language whose total appearance/ experience is bigger than the some of its ?parts? b) does the design change both in its language, materials and cover as the building gets ?higher and if so how??
?3)? Program – what is the use of the in-between spaces? Those that do not function as hotels, ?residences, offices etc.? It seems that these are the most interesting parts of the project.?
Good luck
Dana
