When visiting Al-Abdali, Amman, one of the issues that took my attention was a problem with Amman’s identity, you can see this plot everywhere around the world and that was a big issue because of the critical and sensitive context. Therefore, It was studied the history of buildings in Amman and their formation. This hotel represents Amman's clustering but in a vertical way.
The project's -which is a 5-star hotel- aim was to create an image that tries to adapt to Amman's image and at the same time to create a new and original one. As a hotel, it should create an interesting experience for the visitors , therefore, each room and floor is not the same as the others as well as the views. Every room in this hotel has its view to enjoy Amman's views no matter where they are.
The rotation in all levels helps to create a fantastic view for each room and tries to create from the outside a new different way of dealing with hotels in Amman.
Dear Dana
That's an interesting project you are working on and has a potential of being a masterpiece and landmark which you wish to add to Al-Abdali, Amman cityscape. Kindly furnish me with the following information as this will help in the realization of the project
1.Which precedent studies did you look at for lesson of similar development done in other places which brought about the desired effect within your town, a few good examples to look at would be Burj Al Arab , Burj Khalifa both in Dubai ,Petronas Twin towers in Malaysia then The Leonardo in Sandton South Africa just to name a few.
2. Could you perhaps provide me with typical hotel room layouts to ascertain the emphasis on your concept of experiential views right round the city of Amman.
3. From your project idea you mentioned the sensitivity and historical significance of the site thus what have you learnt from the context or surrounding architectural language ,material usage ,texture ,scale that you employed in your project so that it has a sense of belonging and identity.
4. Then in terms of sustainability and green building components what strategies have you used in your project such as life cycle assessment, siting and structure design efficiency, energy efficiency, water efficiency, materials efficiency, indoor environmental enhancement, waste reduction, operation and maintenance optimization, land use and ecology.
5.Then lastly what you need to look at is the conception of your idea as this is not clear, do you perhaps have initial conceptual sketches that you can share to further explain your idea plus also you need to look at your structural composition ,massing , entrance definition ,fenestrations, site accessibility, balance ,rhythm ,emphasis, proportion and scale.
