The idea behind this project is to create a tourism area in Benghazi, Libya to further increase its economy whilst having the tower work as a monument in the city as well.
This project consists of a retail areas, a pool alongside a gym, main restaurant and rooms of different prototypes. This project is located in a strategic area in Benghazi where it is connected to other nearby hotels, important administrative buildings and the airport, having it work perfectly as a tourist area.
The project presents an interesting and promising idea by aiming to establish a new tourism hub in Benghazi, Libya, while simultaneously creating a landmark tower for the city. The strategic location choice, with its proximity to hotels, administrative buildings, and the airport, clearly shows a good understanding of urban context and potential economic impact.
However, the storytelling and project description feel too brief and underdeveloped. To fully convey the strength of the idea, it would be beneficial to expand on the narrative, explaining not just what is included but why these elements were chosen, how they interact, and how they collectively shape the visitor experience. Adding more details about the cultural and social intentions behind the project would help to create a more engaging and convincing story.
On the technical side, while the use of a core structural system is briefly mentioned, the description could benefit from a more detailed explanation of the construction approach, material choices, and sustainability considerations, especially since these aspects are increasingly critical in tourism-related projects today.
Regarding the presentation, it’s clear that the designer has strong documentation skills and an ability to organize content. However, graphically, the elements do not feel well-integrated. The overall graphic layout could be more cohesive, with consistent visual language, better flow between drawings and diagrams, and a more polished hierarchy to guide the viewer through the material naturally.
Additional points:
It would be valuable to show how the design responds to the local climate and environment, especially considering Libya’s weather conditions.
Including basic site analysis, visitor flow, and conceptual sketches could help illustrate the thought process behind the design.
A stronger focus on how the tower acts as a monument (symbolism, identity, visual impact) would reinforce the conceptual aspect of the project.
Overall, it is a strong concept with great potential, but it needs a deeper narrative and more polished visual presentation to fully realize and communicate its ambition.
